Phillip N. Degray

SPRINGFIELD-Phillip N. DeGray, 75, of Timothy Circle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Phillip was born in Ludlow, a son to the late Oscar and Theodora (Lescault) DeGray. He was educated in Springfield schools, graduating from Springfield Technical High School. Phil started out with the PVTA, cleaning buses and worked his way up to Chief Mechanic in his 35 year career with them. He also delivered bulk newspapers for many years for the Springfield Republican. He was a devoted lifelong fan of the New England Patriots. He played hockey in his youth and followed the NHL throughout his life. Phil cherished his entire family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phil was predeceased by his loving wife of 44, Barbara (Rucinski) DeGray in 2014 and a brother Hondo DeGray. He leaves his devoted son, James DeGray and his wife Michele of Springfield; two grandchildren, Ashley Callahan and Brianna DeGray and three great grandchildren, Greyson, Jaelyn and Skylar. He also leaves his dear brother, Victor DeGray and his wife Frieda of Florida and his sister in law, Lois DeGray of Ludlow. RELATIVE AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO GATHER FROM 9:30 TO 11:00 A.M.
