Raymond Henry Remillard, 79, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2016. Ray was born in Springfield to the late Joseph H. Remillard and Ernestine (Therrien) Remillard. He attended Saint Joseph's school in Springfield where he was a star basketball player. Ray served for the Armed Forces as a National Guardsman. He retired at the American Bosch and Mastek. He loved all sports, but nothing more than the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox and was the true definition of a family man and loved spending time with all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years Janice (Duquette) Remillard, children; Robert A. Remillard, William T. Remillard, Raymond H. Remillard and his partner Katherine Sassi, Cheryl-Lee M. (Remillard) O'Neil and her husband Sean W. O'Neil, Darren S. Duquette and Stephanie (Duquette) Lepsch, brother Harvey J. Remillard , sister in law Rose Remillard, 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren whom he cherished and enjoyed spending time with, many nieces and nephews, as well as many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Leo Remillard and a sister in law Gloria (Canavisio) Remillard. Ray was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather that will be truly missed. Family and friends are invited to pay tribute to Ray on Tuesday November 1 from 4pm -7pm at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street Indian Orchard. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 10am in the Sacred Heart Church located at 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, followed by a burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends are asked together at church for 9:45am.
