Rene Armand Morin

June 16, 1947 — November 10, 2018

SPRINGFIELD-Rene Armand Morin, 71, of Dalton and formerly of Hampshire Street in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Craneville Place in Dalton. Rene was born on June 16, 1947 in Ludlow, Ma, a son of the late Armand R. and Viola (Burek) Morin. He was raised in Indian Orchard, attending St. Aloysius Grade schools and graduated from Cathedral High School. He joined the US Army soon after graduation, and served with the 189Th military police in Miesau, Germany. He served until 1968 when he was honorably discharged and returned home. Rene worked for American Rubber Co. in Springfield prior to his retirement and had previously worked at Monsanto and for a local insulation company. Rene was a longtime member of American Legion Post 277 in Indian Orchard. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends. He leaves his children; Jim Morin and his wife Erin of Wilbraham, Jody Eugenio and her husband Armando of Springfield, Serena Morin and her fiancé Tim Robare of Palmer, Crystal Morin of Wilbraham and Angela Morin of Chicopee, He also leaves his siblings; Deborah Morin of Indian Orchard, Larry Morin and his wife Denise of Bluffton, S.C. and Allan Morin and his wife Maura of Tucson, AZ. and twelve grandchildren.  There are no calling hours. The Family invites you to join them on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. directly at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA. for the Catholic Rites of Committal followed by US Army Honors for Rene.  (Please arrive promptly by 8:50 a.m. for services). Donation in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. Ratell Funeral Home, Indian orchard has been entrusted with Rene's services.
