Reno Marcello Mariani of Ludlow, age 101, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke after living there for the last several years. He was born in Ludlow on August 21, 1923, to his late parents Enrico and Julia (Tronconi) Mariani. Reno sailed as a Merchant Marine in WWII and then in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a shop teacher in Chicopee schools. He also worked for American Bosch and Indian Motorcycle. In 1975, Reno married the love of his life, Dolores (Talbot) Mariani and they remained married for 38 years until her passing. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Ludlow. Reno was predeceased by his brothers Volturno, Eddie, and Armando Mariani and his sisters Louise Peluso and Lena Pagel. He is survived by his sister Alba Cetti, his niece and caregiver, Gail and her husband Manuel Martins, and many other nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, January 22 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Ratell Funeral Home at 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard with a Funeral Home Service beginning at 11:00 AM.
