Richard C. Barry

SPRINGFIELD-Richard C. Barry, 62, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at BSMC, Springfield. Richard was a lifelong Springfield resident, was educated in local schools and graduated from Roger L. Putnam Vocational HS. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served at the Coast Guard Academy from 1979 to 1983. Richard worked for the Town of Longmeadow for many years in the Maintenance Department and as a certified Boiler Operator. Rich loved fishing in the area, especially Forest Lake in Palmer with his fishing partner of 38 years, Tom Back. Rich was predeceased by his parents, Donald & Anita Barry. He leaves his brother, Thomas Barry and his wife Christine of Easthampton. His stepsisters; Elizabeth Squires of Texas and Linda Barry of Vermont, several nieces and nephews and his many close friends including his work buddies in Longmeadow. There are no calling hours.
