Richard E. Minnie 1946 - 2008 WILBRAHAM - Richard E. Minnie, 62, died Sunday July 20, 2008 at the Life Care of Wilbraham Nursing Center. He was born in Ludlow, on June 17, 1946 to Marguerite J. (Roberts) Minnie of Wilbraham and the late Roland E. Minnie. Richard graduated from Cathedral High School in 1964 and American International College in 1969, where he received a BA in Political Science. Mr. Minnie served our country in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of SP6 and served as an Advanced Individual Translator Interceptor. While in the military, Richard received the National Defense Service Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin) and the Good Conduct Medal. Richard lived and worked in CA for many years. He loved listening to foreign music and enjoyed reading many different types of literature. Besides his mother, Richard will be sadly missed by his sister, Rosalie E. Mougin and her companion, Robert Castor of Walpole, N.H.; several aunts, uncles and many cousins. His memory will also be cherished by his friends in California and Germany. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, July 25 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecelia Church, Main St, Wilbraham. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St, Agawam. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in Richard's memory, to either Baystate Visiting Nurse Assoc. & Hospice, 50 Maple St, Springfield, MA, 01102-9058 or  Baystate Health Ambulance, 338 High St, Greenfield, MA, 01301
