Richard P. Stevens1933-2014Springfield- Richard "Shot" P. Stevens, 81, of Springfield passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at home. Born in Springfield on April 25, 1933 he was the son of the late Paul H. and Mildred C. (Roberts) Stevens. Richard served as Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an Electrician for the former Monsanto for many years. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 277 and the Stokers Racing Club. Shot enjoyed gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his loving wife Sandra J. (LaBelle) Stevens in 2012, and his three children, Barry R. Stevens, Cathy J. Preston, and Laurie J. Stevens. Shot leaves his son Mark G. Stevens of Springfield; ten grandchildren, Lisa, Linda, Sarah, Bobby, Cori, Kristina, Matthew, Laurie, Ashley, and Samantha; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St, Indian Orchard, at 945am with a funeral home service starting at 10am. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St, Ludlow. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 4-8pm.
