Rita E. Chenevert

Rita E. Chenevert 1922-2008   Rita E. (Jodoin) Chenevert, 85, of Indian Orchard, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2008.  Born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada and a resident of Indian Orchard for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Amande and Marie (Ouellette) Jodoin.  Rita was a graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield. For a number of years she was manager of the Hallmark Card store in the Eastfield Mall in Springfield.  She had also worked as an inspector for Associated Engineers at the Orchard Mills and also at the U.S Envelope Co. of Springfield. Rita was an avid gardener and loved to golf. She was a great fan of both the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.  Rita was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Ludlow and for many years was a member of the former St. Aloysius Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society of Indian Orchard.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Omer, Benoit, Herme, Lawrence and Gerald Jodoin and a sister, Angelina Thyse.  Rita is survived by her husband of (57) years, Louis P. Chenevert; a daughter, Kathleen M. Borek and her husband Thomas of Westfield; a granddaughter, Janessa Acquaro of Boston and sister, Marguerite Twombly of Indian Orchard.  Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, Ludlow, at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.
