Robert L. Bouchard

Robert L. Bouchard 1929-2013 CHICOPEE- Robert "Bob" "Pepe" L. Bouchard (84) passed away at Birch Manor Nursing Home.  He was born on February 5, 1929 to the late Leo and Anna (Rachmaciej) Bouchard in Bridgeport, CT.  Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He later owned Butch's Barber Shop in Indian Orchard for 20 years.  Bob was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Parish, Ludlow, and a former communicant of St. Jude Church, Indian Orchard.  He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed activities such as bowling, bingo, listening to big band music, and was known as the "puzzle man" at Birch Manor.  Bob was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine L.  (Bedard) Bouchard on May 21, 2011. Bob is survived by his two sons, Michael Bouchard and wife Diane, and Leo Bouchard; four grandchildren, Sean Bouchard and fiancé Elizabeth Ouimette, Jennifer Ackley and husband Richard, Rory Bouchard and companion Denise Ricapito, and Julie Lyons and fiancé Matt Gray; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hannah, and Jacob.  Bob's family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Birch Manor for the compassionate love and care given to Bob, especially the past few weeks.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 9th beginning at 9am from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10am in St. Elizabeth's Parish, 181 Hubbard St, Ludlow, with Rites of Committal and Burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Section S, 1273 Berkshire Ave, Indian Orchard.  Bob's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Tuesday, October 8th from 5-7pm at the funeral home.  Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Birch Manor Nursing Home Activities Fund, 44 New Lombard Rd, Chicopee, MA 01020.  For additional information visit ratellfuneralhome.com Ratell Funeral Home (413) 543-3836
