Robert Leo Vance

March 8, 1935 — January 13, 2022

Robert Leo "Buddy" Vance, 86, of Elmore Avenue in Springfield passed away peacefully on Thursday at BSMC in Springfield. Buddy was born in Ludlow, and had lived in Springfield all his life.  He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was stationed aboard the USS Basilone and served from 1955 to 1959 before being honorably discharged and returning home.  Buddy worked for Polep Distributors over 35 years before retiring in 1997. He was a faithful catholic and a communicant of Our Lady Of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Buddy was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Laura Marie (LeBleu) Vance. He leaves many cousins in Ludlow and the surrounding area, and many dear friends including William Craven of Springfield who assisted Bob over the years. RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A GRAVESIDE SERVICE WITH RITES OF CATHOLIC COMMITTAL AND US NAVY HONORS ON TUESDAY, JAN. 18, 2022 at 10:15 A.M. AT ST. ALOYSIUS CEMETERY, 1273 BERKSHIRE AVE., SPFLD. (Section U) Visiting hours are omitted.
