Robert B. Williams 1916-2013 SOUTH HADLEY - Robert B. Williams, 97, of Chicopee, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born in Burlington, Vermont on April 29, 1916 to the late Wesley R. and Estella (Ploof) Williams.  Robert was a painter for many years, working for Sheraton Kimball for 20 years, R.L. Letendre Co, and other local contractors in Springfield.  He often enjoyed traveling with his wife to many places including the Caribbean or Hawaii.  Robert was also an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and never missed a game. In his spare time, Robert did plastic canvas needlepoint projects until he was 96 years old. He is predeceased by his wife, Annette M. (Brochu) Williams; his first wife, Marion Gilberti (Smith); one grandchild Tammy Quatacker; three brothers: Maurice, Norman, and Lauren Williams; and one sister, Marie Sweeney.  He is survived by his daughter, Carol Gilleran and her family friend Aaron Lundy of VT; five grandchildren: Theresa Scott and her boyfriend Paul Hubner Jr. of NH, Tina Rideout of MA, John Gilleran III and his wife Brenda of OH, Joseph Gilleran and his wife Alyssa of VT, and Meghan Gilleran of NY; 12 great- grandchildren and 9 great- great-grandchildren.  Robert is also survived by three step-children; Pauline Paquette of CT, Robert Perreault of TX, and Raymond Perreault of MA; two brothers, Donald Williams of MA and Sherman Williams of VT; and one sister, Shirley Brooks of VT.  A graveside service will be held for Robert in St. Michaels Cemetery, 1601 State St, Springfield at 11am on Saturday, August 24th.
