Roland E. Ouellette 1937 - 2009 Chicopee - Roland E. Ouellette, 72, died on Monday, April 28, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. He was a former thirty nine year Ludlow resident and currently of Chicopee. He was born in the Bronx, New York on January 3, 1937, a son of the late Eugene and Theodice (Morin) Ouellette. He attended New York schools and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired after twenty seven years of service as a spray painter from the former Zero Corporation of Monson. Roland enjoyed carpentry, building bird houses, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty seven years, Marjorie (Jackson) Ouellette, two daughters, Shelly Parent and her husband Kevin, and Lynn Parent and her husband Michael, both of Granby, MA. He also leaves four sisters, Doris Gosselin of Maine, Irene Leckbee of Texas, Simone Martin of Florida, and Cecile Poliquin of New Hampshire. He will be sadly missed by three grandchildren, Christopher, Allie, Joshua, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Ouellette in 2008 and his sister, Anita Comito in 1995. Calling hours are on Monday, May 4 from 6 - 8pm at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard, with a Service of Remembrance at 7pm. Relatives and friends are requested to meet at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, May 5 at 9:45am for committal services. In lieu of flowers contributions in Roland's memory may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
