Sandra Jeanne Stevens

Sandra Jeanne (LaBelle) Stevens 1937 - 2012 Springfield - Sandra J. Stevens, age 74, of Springfield died Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Wingate at East Longmeadow. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Bye) LaBelle. Sandy was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a 1955 graduate of Technical High School.  She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. Sandy was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield and throughout her life, although she faced many trials and tribulations, she always held onto her strong faith in the Lord. Sandra leaves her husband Richard P. Stevens and her son Mark G. Stevens both at home, two sisters Janice Bartholomew of Somers, CT. and Sharleen Thayer and her husband Richard of Hampden, 10 grandchildren Lisa, Linda, Sarah, Bobby, Cori, Kristina, Matthew, Laurie, Ashley and Samantha, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Sandy was predeceased by her three children Laurie J. Stevens, Barry R. Stevens, and Cathy J. Preston. The funeral will be held from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard, on Tuesday, February 14, at 9am with a liturgy of Christian burial at St. Catherine of Siena at 10am and burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow.
