Stanley Leonard Barringer

June 19, 1945 — October 29, 2018

SPRINGFIELD-Stanley L. Barringer, 73, of Seymour Avenue in Springfield passed away on Monday evening at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield after a brief illness.  Stan was born on June 19, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. the son of the late William & Helen (Zaborowski) Barringer. He was raised and educated in Pittsburgh, graduating from Pittsburgh H.S. He graduated from Yuba City College with an Associate's Degree in Business. He moved to the area 55 years ago upon joining the USAF. He met his wife, Jane Tokarz and they were married on June 29. 1968. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage prior to his [Related image] passing. Stanley proudly served with the Air Force and Air Force Reserve as a Master Sergeant. He was assigned to the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron of the 439th Airlift Wing at Westover for 35 years.  He was deployed in several Operations including Desert Storm & Operation Freedom.  After retirement he was employed with Balise Scion in West Springfield, working in the shipping & receiving Dept. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Pool, Darts, Golfing and was a member of the Moose Lodge Family Center 1849 in Chicopee.  Stanley leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Jane (Tokarz) Barringer of Springfield. His daughter Carrie Isham and her husband Clark. His grandchildren; William &  Kyle Fay, Stephan, Jonathan Isham, Amber Isham - Lyons, Alex and Adrianna Isham and two great grandchildren; Garrett & Jeremy Isham. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and extended members of the Barringer and Tokarz families. He was predeceased by a sister, Laura Schaffner.  The family would like to give special thanks to the Nurses of Sr. Caritas Cancer Center, Nurses at Mercy Medical Intensive Care unit and Dr. Masih Farooqui for the care they showed Stan during his brief illness. Calling hours for Stanley will be Friday afternoon at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at the Ratell Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. (Funeral Home opens at 9:00 A.M.) followed by Burial with military honors at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Avenue, Indian Orchard. Donations in Stanley's memory may be made to the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew St., Spfld, Ma. 01104.
