Steven C. Danek

Steven C. Danek 1969-2012 LUDLOW- On January 22, 2012, Steven Carl Danek, of Ludlow, lost his battle with cancer.  He fought valiantly to the end with his family by his side.  Steve was born on June 25, 1969 in Westfield to Michael and Kathryn (Saidak).  He grew up in Westfield and graduated in 1987 from Westfield High School.  On October 3, 1992, he married his sweetheart, Lynn Wilson.  They raised two beautiful sons, Jeffrey Michael and Justin Steven.  Steve was a true soccer dad and was always seen (and heard) on the sidelines cheering on his sons and their teams.  Steve was most proud to be able to attend Jeff's state championship win last fall.  Steve was an avid Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox fan.  He received various licenses and recognitions for his work as a lawn care specialist.  He most recently worked for Lawn Tech in Ludlow. In addition to his wife, children and parents, Steve leaves behind his siblings Patricia Ryan and her husband Steve of San Jose, CA, Carol Pacinella of Easthampton, and Michael Danek, Valerie Maslauskas and her husband Rod, and Diane Zanolli of Westfield.  He also leaves behind his parents-in-law Ron and Donna Wilson and sisters-in-law Lisa Bakowski and Lori Kyle and her husband Josh all of Springfield.  In addition, he leaves several nephews and nieces and his crazy dog, Rocky. Steve's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ashita Talsania from the D'Amour Center for Cancer Care for her extraordinary compassion and to Steve's father-in-law Ron for playing a huge role in his care and for being by his "son's" side as he went to a better place. Steve's family will receive relatives and friends at the visitation on Thursday, January 26th from 4-8 P.M. at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard, with a funeral home service to be held at 5 P.M.  We request that there be no flowers sent.  A fund has been established for the Danek children.  Donations may be sent to:  United Bank, Attn:  Yvonne Santos, 528 Center Street, Ludlow, MA 01056.
