Steven Raymond Porterfield of Springfield, Ma, age 74, passed away on October 5, 2026, with his family by his side at Baystate Medical Center. Steven was born in California on April 10, 1952, to his late mother, Lorraine Ferdette.

Steven grew up in Chicopee, MA and received his diploma at Chicopee High School. He was married to his late wife Diane (Mis) Porterfield. Steven was a Marine Corps veteran who proudly served in the Vietnam conflict. He worked as a supervisor in manufacturing. Steven will be remembered for being an amazing father, great husband, wonderful grandfather, and being someone people could count on. He was known for giving of himself so he could help friends and family who were in need. Steven had a great sense of humor and was known for being playful and leaving many memories for his loved ones to carry on. His pride and joy was a blue '67 Mustang that he loved to drive around.

 Steven is predeceased by his mother Lorraine Ferdette, wife Diane (Mis) Porterfield, son John M Porterfield, and brother Kevin Porterfield. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Porterfield, grandchildren Serena and her fiance Ryan, Noah, Crystal, Joshua, and Gabriel. His niece and nephew Brandi and Brian.
