Susan P. Houle

October 14, 1947 — February 7, 2024

Susan P. Houle, 76, of Davis Street in Springfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Susan was born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Edward T. and Rose (Decosmo) Pelletier. She was a lifelong city resident, educated in local schools and graduated from the Springfield High School of Commerce. Susan worked for most of her life as a paraprofessional with the Springfield public schools. She retired from Edward P. Boland school on Armory Street and had previously worked at Gerena and Brookings as well. Susan loved reading and coloring, both traits she passed on to her many students. She was a member of the Chicopee Moose Family Center 1849. She married Gerald E. Houle on August 12, 1957 and they enjoyed 66 years of love, family and happy memories together. Susan leaves her beloved family. Husband Gerald "Jerry Houle and son Scott Houle of Springfield. Her daughter, Sheryl Aziz of Worcester, her granddaughter, Anna Aziz of Malden. Siblings; Christopher Pelletier of Palmer and Deborah Maynard of Springfield and many nieces and nephews. Susan was sadly predeceased by her parents and a sister, Diane Wilcox. CALLING HOURS WILL BE THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2024 FROM 9:00 TO 11:00 A.M. AT RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD. THERE WILL BE A RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 11:00 A.M. Susan will be cremated and her interment in Hillcrest Park Cemetery will be held privately at a later date.
