Thomas J. Tavernier 1961-2010 LUDLOW - Thomas Joseph Tavernier, 49, of Ludlow, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 22, 2010. Born in Ludlow and a life long resident, he was the son of the late Armand and Ann (Chenier) Tavernier. Thomas was a fork lift operator for the U. S. Postal Service and worked out of the Bulk Mail Center in Indian Orchard. He was also a newspaper carrier for the Springfield Republican. Thomas was a father figure, uncle and friend of many. He was forever a teaser and comedian. His passion was playing billiards. Thomas served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1981-1984. He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine Tavernier and her fiancée, Allen Derouin of Ludlow, Marian Coupal of Three Rivers, Dorothy Derouin and her husband Robert of Springfield; a brother, Armand Tavernier, Jr. and his wife Sue of Dacula, Georgia; a niece, Tausha Avila and her husband Joe of Ludlow, nephews, Francis Derouin and his wife Maryann, Andre Derouin, Jason Derouin and Daryl Tavernier. He also leaves several grand nieces and nephews including Alexia Tavernier and Kira Caminoli of Ludlow. Calling hours will be held on Thursday (today), August 26, 2010 at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services and burial will be private.
