Thomas W. Vance1936-2012LUDLOW- Thomas "Tom" W. Vance, 76, a lifelong Ludlow resident, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 9, 2012 at home. Born in Ludlow on January 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert and Pauline (Carmell) Vance. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and received the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He retired from SCM Container in Agawam after 10 years of service and had worked prior at Northeast Tool and Engineering for 30 years. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Klementine A. (Six) Vance in 1985; and a brother, Raymond R. Vance, earlier this year. He is survived by his three children, Angela M. Anderson and her husband George of Hampden, Thomas W. Vance Jr. and his wife Joan of Ludlow, and Douglas S. Vance and his wife Nancy of Chicopee; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his dear friend, Cindy LaPlante of Springfield; as well as  many other dear friends and relatives. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Patrick Boyce and Becky of Hampshire County Internal Medicine as well as Mamie Flowers, RN and the staff of Baystate VNA & Hospice for their excellent care and support. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 16th at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Section T, 1273 Berkshire Ave. Indian Orchard. There are no visiting hours.
