Walter J. Twarog

November 29, 1932 — April 22, 2022

Walter J. Twarog, 89, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. He was a son of the late Walter & Stefania (Struziak) Twarog. Walter was educated in Ludlow schools and graduated from Ludlow High School. The day after his graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy. He proudly served aboard the USS L.S.T. 561 during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Walter was a licensed Electrical contractor and owned and operated Twarog Electric for many years. He was a faithful member of Christ the King Church in Ludlow, a member of the Polish Americans Veterans Club of Wilbraham and a lifetime member of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks #2448. During his lifetime, Walter received many awards for his wood carvings and had the privilege and honor to have his creations displayed in the Art & Music room of the Springfield City Library. He leaves his beloved wife, Marion (Janas) Twarog of Ludlow. His two daughters; Janice Ouellette and Valerie Hart both of Connecticut and five grandchildren. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS. PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT RATELL FUNERAL HOME, INDIAN ORCHARD FOLLOWED BY A PRIVATE BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS IN ISLAND POND CEMETERY IN LUDLOW.
