Yvonne Bertha Talbot

Yvonne B. Talbot 1908-2010 LUDLOW - Yvonne B. (Gagnon) Talbot, 101, entered into eternal rest on Friday November 5, 2010.  Born in Holyoke and a long time Ludlow resident, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Marie (Charron) Gagnon.   Yvonne was the wife of the late Albert J. Talbot who passed in 1993. She was the last of 10 siblings.  She had worked at the former Westinghouse Corp. in Springfield and at the former Stuart's Sportsmen Center in Indian Orchard.  Yvonne was a talented seamstress who was known for her quality work and for her creativeness in millinery, quilt making and ladies apparel.  She shared her talents at St. John the Baptist School for several years making costumes for school plays. She enjoyed baking and was very adept at cake decorating.  She also did carpentry and upholstery. Yvonne also possessed the gift of music playing the piano for several years with the Lague Orchestra of Aldenville, an all male band.  She along with her late husband Albert, were very active in Ludlow town politics. Yvonne was honored by the Town of Ludlow on June 1st of this year with the Golden Cane Award given in recognition as the oldest living resident of the town.  Yvonne was a member of the Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church Ludlow.  She leaves two daughters, Y. Claire Pindell and Lorraine Hayes both of Ludlow; three grandchildren, Patrick Hayes and his wife (Rachael), Michael Hayes and Danielle Plewa; a great granddaughter, Vivienne Plewa and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church, Ludlow at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.  A calling hour will be held on Wednesday at the Ratell Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.  For guest book & directions visit ratellfuneralhome.com Ratell Funeral Home  (413) 543-3836
