CHICOPEE-Edmund V. Mariani, 75, of Valley View Court in Chicopee passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Thursday surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Ludlow on May 15, 1943, a son of the late Louis J. Mariani and Sheila (Stone) Mariani of Sandwich, MA. Ed was raised and educated in Ludlow and attended local schools. Ed owned his own Masonry business and over the course of his life built many home and businesses in the area, he was a skilled concrete finisher and trained many apprentice Masons. Ed enjoyed traveling, especially camping with friends. He loved the outdoors and fishing. His travels took him far and wide, but always to see family first. He leaves his dear mother, Sheila (Stone) Mariani of Sandwich, Ma. His devoted children; Brenda Mariani of Springfield, Chad Mariani of Rhode Island and Lena Mariani of Springfield. His longtime fiancée, Yolanda Rivera of Chicopee. His grandchildren; Joshua, Melissa, Alexis, Caitlyn, Danielle, Emaleigh and Faith. His great Grandchildren; Colin, Kasen, Gabriel and Joshua. He also leaves his siblings; Jody Mariani of Westfield, Gary Mariani of Ludlow, Pamela Coombs of Sandwich and Kimber Leivi of Ludlow as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and services will be private. His ashes will be scattered at the Ocean on Cape Cod at a private family memorial. Donations in his memory may be made to the Springfield Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Spfld, Mass. The family has entrusted Ratell Funeral Home, Indian Orchard with his cremation and services
