SPRINGFIELD ~ Gerald E. O’Gorman, (Bones) 77, of Grayson Drive in Springfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Jerry was born in Ludlow on September 23, 1941 the son of the late Edward C. and Helen (Pirog) O’Gorman. In addition to his parents, his brother, Richard predeceased him also. He was raised and educate in Ludlow, attending Ludlow Schools and graduating from Ludlow High School. Jerry was a great athlete and excelled in several sports in his High School career. He was a self-employed Carpenter and Real Estate investor throughout his life and his expertise in construction was well known. He always enjoyed working and the satisfaction of a job done right was his goal. He bought and sold Real Estate, taking old houses and turning them into like new homes. He loved watching sports, of any kind, but was partial to his New England teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Jerry was an avid coin collector and could always spot a rare coin, having a keen eye for the elusive one. He leaves the mother of his children; Janice Mae Nida. His children; Maureen O’Gorman (John Forcier) of Belchertown, Mary Ellen ( Johnny Kuhn) Mark O’Gorman and Mitchell O’Gorman of California, ten grandchildren; Priscilla, Michael, Edward, Patrick, Daniel, Mitchell, Andrew, Julia, Shane and Johnny Jr. , ten great grandchildren and cousins. At Jerry’s request he will be cremated and his ashes will be interred in a private committal at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Indian Orchard. There are no calling hours. Ratell Funeral & Cremation Services has been entrusted with Jerry’s care.
