James P. Caplette, 61, of Main St. in Three Rivers passed away on Saturday at Baystate medical Center in Springfield. Jim was born in Springfield, a son of the late Antonio & Isabelle (MacDougal) Caplette. He was raised and educated in Springfield and attended local schools. He enlisted in the USAF in 1979, serving with the 509 Supply Squadron as an aircraft mechanic and then the 439th Airlift Wing at Westover. He was honorably discharged and returned home to start his family. He married Lorraine Ann Cross on July 20, 1985 and they shared 36 years of love, memories and family together. Jim was employed with Goodless Electric for many years and then worked as an automotive mechanic for several area dealerships including KIA in Enfield, CT. He loved antique cars, especially the 50’s era, his favorite car was the 55’ Chevy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed fishing. He leaves his beloved wife; Lorraine (Cross) Caplette. His children; Matthew, William and Carolyn Caplette (fiancé Troy Barney) all of Three Rivers and Christina Wilson and her husband Ryan of Florida. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren; Ava Parks, Laylah Caplette, Noah Wilson and Abby Wilson. In addition to his parents, Jim was sadly predeceased by a grandson, Jaydis Caplette in 2008.
Family and friends will gather for calling hours on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD.
The family invites you to join on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. directly at the MASSACHUSETTS VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 1390 MAIN ST., AGAWAM for the Catholic Rites of Committal and US Air Force Honors for Jim. (Please arrive promptly no later than 9:50 a.m.)
