LUDLOW-Jason Matthew Patrie, 33, of Miller Street in Ludlow left us much too soon on Saturday evening, April 21, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Jason was born in Springfield on October 26, 1984, the beloved son of Matthew and Jennifer (Plata) Patrie of Ludlow. He was raised in Ludlow, attending grade schools there and graduated from Valley West School in Chicopee. Jason was an independent person, walking his own path in life from an early age... He loved the outdoors and fishing with friends. A music buff, he enjoyed all genres and especially loved playing the guitar. He traveled to many music festivals, near & far in his quest for great music… Jason was a talented artist and made beautiful pen and charcoal drawings, a side of Jason many people didn’t know, the drawings reflected his personality, beautiful pieces with such intricate work and hours of time spent on each. Jason was good with his hands in many ways, and that was displayed in his mastery of construction framing, working as a framer, he helped build homes, condominiums and many other living abodes. He loved working with his father, Matthew, at J & M Polishing in Ludlow, and did so for many years. Jason leaves his loving parents; Matthew & Jennifer (Plata) Patrie and his cherished sister, Cheyenne. His maternal grandmother, Jeannette Plata of Palmetto, FLA. and his paternal grandmother, Donna Patrie of Pittsfield. His godparents; Roger Duffy of Belchertown and Lee Anne Covington of Chicopee. Jason also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins in the extended Patrie and Plata families. There are no calling hours. The family will Celebrate Jason’s life with private services. The family asks that donations in his memory be made to the Northern Hope Center, 298 Federal St, Greenfield, MA 01301. The family has entrusted Jason’s care and services with Ratell Funeral Home, Indian Orchard.
