SPRINGFIELD-Robert A. “Bobby” Cyr, 59 years young of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital with his family at his side. Bobby was born in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of the city, he grew up in Springfield, attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School where he excelled in Hockey. The hockey bug that bit him in his youth never left him and he was a lifelong fan especially of the Colorado Avalanche, Go AVS! Bobby worked as a Material Handler for WestRock in Springfield, where he made many lifelong friends. He stopped working due to his health and missed his many friends there every day. Bobby enjoyed his family and spending time with them. Whether spending time with friends, playing Pokeno or just having a beer. The Cyr family has lifelong family connections with Block Island and Bobby loved spending time with his family there, at the Surf Hotel and enjoying the Ocean. Spending time traveling in his convertible was one of his small joys in life. His family remembers him as a showman, not a showoff, a true gentlemen. His beloved parents, Arthur & Jeanne (Ford) Cyr predeceased him. He leaves the love of his wife, Susan (Chapdelaine) Cyr whom he married on May 4, 2007. His loving sons; Robert W, Cyr and Krystil of Springfield and Michael A. Cyr and his fiancée, Jillian Iwasinski of Ludlow and his cherished grandchildren; Sirenyti, Chayce and Ryver. Family and Friends will gather and remember Bobby on Thursday evening, August 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 6:00 p.m. In keeping with Bobby’s wishes, his family will scatter his ashes privately at Block Island.
