Springfield‐ Robert E Isham, 80, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield was called safely home on Wednesday July 28, 2021. He passed into eternal life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on June 30, 1941 a beloved son of the late Walter W Isham Sr. and May B. (Taylor) Isham. He was born and raised in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed for 30 years at National Rubber, formerly located in the heart of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield. Above all, he loved spending time with his loving family and his many dear friends. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Ellen M. (Belder) Isham whom he married on April 12, 1975. He also leaves behind his son; Timmy D. Isham also of Indian Orchard. He was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Tina M. Isham who was called home on June 12, 2013. Also leaves his beloved Grandchildren: Robert, Leena, Catania and Alicia and his two Great Grandchildren; Aryah and Willoh, several nephews, nieces and many friends. Also survived by his brothers; Walter Isham and his wife Maryann, Stuart Isham and his wife Betty, Phillip Isham and his wife Lori, and Albert Isham; his two dear sisters; Gloria Glynn and Christine St. John and her husband Doug. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Clark, Charles and Nick Isham and his three dear sisters; Clarinda “Midge” St. John, Lynn Rose Heath and Barbara Robertson.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, August 3, 20201 for Calling hours for Robert at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
