Sarkis Santourian
Sarkis Santourian of Indian Orchard passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 6, 2008.  Born March 20, 1910 in Marash, Turkey he was a survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.  He came to the U. S. from Lebanon in 1969 and settled in Springfield, MA.  He worked at Chmura’s Bakery until his retirement.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sara and three sons and families; Taniel V., Nora V., Shant and Raffi of Wilbraham; Asadour of Aspen, CO; Hrayr, Armine, Haig & Taleen of Modesto, CA; Sevan, Vanessa and great grandchild Celine of WA.  Calling hours will be held at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m.  Committal services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made to the ARF/ANCA c/o St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church 131 Goodwin St., Indian Orchard, MA  01151 or to St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church.  For Guest Book visit
