SPRINGFIELD-Stanley E. Millot, 97, of Fallston Street in Springfield passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Stan was born in Middlefield on September 12, 1922, a son of the late George & Ellen (Washburn) Millot. He was raised and educated in Southwick and graduated from Westfield High School at the age of 16. He also attended the Springfield Civil service & Commercial High School. Stan enlisted in the US Army proudly serving with the 511th Medical Hospital Platoon Ship. He received the WW II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, European Middle Eastern theatre campaign Medal and the Philippines Liberation medal. He was honorably discharged returning home in 1945. He began his civilian career with Gilbert & Barker in West Springfield then Moore Drop Forge in Springfield before finally joining Fleet Bank as a Senior Field Examiner for 15 years, retiring in 1987. It was Stan and Jeanne’s dream to travel the country, so immediately after retiring they took off to see the great United States for several months.  Stan was very active in the community, serving as a Cub Scout Master with Troop 34 in Spfld. Superintendent of Wesley Methodist Church School and longtime member of the Golden Agers in Springfield. Stan enjoyed the great outdoors, whether fishing or gardening and even coaching Little League baseball. He enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox. Stan loved working with his hands, crafting fine furniture for his home and friends. He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years, Jeanne (Chouinard) Millot who he married on October 1, 1976. His devoted children; James E. Millot and his wife Deborah of Agawam, the late John L. Millot (who passed on Dec. 1, 2019) and his wife Christina of Wilbraham, Susan Becker and her husband Kevin of Springfield. Stepchildren; Raymond Cliche and his wife Karen of Belchertown and Linda Nugent and her husband David of Holyoke. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Stan was predeceased by his dear siblings; Dorothy Coon, Marjorie Millot, Shirley Cassanelli and Bertha Hart and a beloved infant daughter Darlene Millot. The family would like to especially thank Vicky Burgos, Stan's PCA for the dignity, comfort and care she showed Stan these past few months. Calling hours for Stanley will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Family and Friends may gather on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 directly at Foster Memorial Church, 1791 Wilbraham Rd., Spfld for a Service of Remembrance for Stanley at 11:00 A.M.  (Please arrive promptly by 10:45 a.m.) Burial with military Honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
