CHICOPEE- Thomas Edward Demers, 76, of Brightwood St. passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning at home. He was born in Ludlow on December 4, 1941 the son of the late Joseph H. & Gertrude (Ducharme) Demers. He was raised in the Orchard and attended local schools. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1962 with the 247th Transportation Co. at Ft. Story, VA. After returning home, he worked as a Supervisor for Waldman Publishing in Ludlow for many years before his retirement. Tom was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 227 in Springfield. He leaves his wife, Beverly (Twining) Demers. His daughter, Cheryl Peters of Chicopee, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Sadly, Tom was predeceased by his siblings. At Tom’s request, all services will be private. Burial will be held in St. Aloysius Cemetery with Military honors being accorded. The family has entrusted Tom’s care and cremation services with Ratell Funeral Home, Indian Orchard.
